A Day in the Life
In this role, you will develop your analytical and problem-solving skills by tackling real challenges in the field of health, safety, and environment (HSE). You will contribute to updating procedures and risk analysis, supporting continuous improvement initiatives to make the workplace safer and more sustainable. By working closely with the Leadership Team and experienced colleagues, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills to practical projects and gain valuable experience in HSE practices.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Update procedures for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification, ensuring alignment with corporate standards across all health, safety, and environmental topics.
Verify the implementation of procedures through on-site inspections in production areas.
Participate in employee training and development activities.
Update risk assessment sheets for routine and non-routine activities (JSA – Job Safety Analysis), breaking tasks down into sub-activities and analyzing risks at each stage.
Support the update of ergonomic risk assessments, including manual handling of loads and repetitive movements or strain of the upper limbs.
Develops, administers, and implements environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
Identifies and takes corrective action against activities that may pose risks to workers’ health or safety; this may include recommending organizational measures, revising methods or processes, inspecting workplaces and equipment, and investigating incidents.
Ensures appropriate corrective actions are taken where HSE hazards exist.
May promote employee awareness and training on HSE topics.
Monitors pollution prevention activities, compliance, and auditing efforts.
Conducts studies and prepares environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes, and permit changes.
Reviews and analyzes environmental documentation from regulatory agencies and collaborates with them on corrective action plans.
Evaluates proposed regulations to assess financial, industrial, public, and environmental impact.
Interacts with regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues, define permit requirements, and support audits.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related legal field.
ASPP certification is considered a plus.
Good knowledge of English.
Good knowledge of Italian.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Attention to detail, proactivity, and strong communication and active listening skills.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
