Accident-free, healthy work.</p><p></p><p><b>What a typical day looks like:</b></p><ul><li><p>Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs</p></li><li><p>Examine plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included.</p></li><li><p>Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.</p></li><li><p>Define requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.</p></li><li><p>Conduct or coordinates safety training to educate workers about emergency acknowledge, safety policies, laws and practices.</p></li><li><p>Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.</p></li><li><p>Conducts air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors.</p></li><li><p>In charge of identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.</p></li><li><p>Serves as internal consultant to business units on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters.</p></li><li><p>Audits business units.</p></li><li><p>Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace health and safety related matters.</p></li><li><p>Compiles and submits safety reports.</p></li><li><p>Administers workers’ compensation, OSHA 2000 log and return to work program.</p></li></ul><p><b> </b></p><p><b>The experience we’re looking to add to our team:</b></p><ul><li><p>Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
