The ECAD Design Engineer role is a similar position to the Program Manager position in that they both pull people together and support them in the accomplishment of a specific task. In this case it’s the delivery of CAD Library models for R&D community but may extend to other functions. This is a technical Individual position and it has higher responsibilities, expectations, and may have higher scoping.

 

Ensures the efficient and effective delivery of CAD libraries information to customers. Also, help & support their team in achieving improvements in team productivity, data quality, cycle time, and increased customer satisfaction. Agilent Corporate library has created a high-quality, ready to-use, standard library of symbols and cells available for designers throughout Organization, this standard library ensures easier design re-use and transfer between design sites, and it minimizes the number of unique parts created across sites.

• Create and maintain a comprehensive data operation/execute plan to meet and exceed department KPI’s
• Is self-dependent and need guidance only in complex situations.
• Use wide ranging experience to apply broad concept and theories to achieve innovation and effective solutions to complex problems
• Can deep-dive, comprehend new problems and present novel approaches to solving them.
• Contributes as a key resource in development of new methods and theories.
• Identify and conduct case studies within role of library development to automate design process and remove manual interventions wherever necessary.
• Speaks for the process as the technical expert when organization projects require input, new business requirements are identified, or data quality issues arise.
• Identifies and actively manages process risks.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and process improvement methodologies, plans and implements projects to address the same.
• Identifies and schedules projects and tasks required to accomplish key process milestones to provide on-time information delivery. 
• Maintains a status awareness of all project tasks and activities. Reports on process performance measures.
• Maintains strong process relationship with management, sponsors, and customers. Engages with customers and provides timely resolution to customer requirements/requests.
• Ensures that change management planning is completed and executed as required.
• Help train and give guidance to other Agilent employees

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and communication engineering or equivalent.
• 10-12 years of Post Qualification Experience.
• Knowledge of Electronic circuits and Components.
• Knowledge of EDA CAD tools preferably Mentor Graphics.
• Digital, analog, or mixed technology design layout knowledge.
• Understand technical concepts for design layout of SMT and thru-hole components on multilayer boards.
• Knowledge of current component engineering trends and technologies.
• Knowledge of IEEE symbols & IPC standards are desired.
• Knowledge of component symbol, footprint creation and mapping
• Ability to manipulate files and execute commands in a computer-operating environment.
• Should be aware of TQC/Six Sigma methodologies to improve existing CAD environment.
• Knowledge of PLM and PDM system is an added advantage.

• Knowledge of Electronics Simulation tools is an added advantage.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
