The E-Commerce Senior Product Manager – IT Business Partner – Waters serves as the primary technology partner for global digital commerce capabilities across plan, build and run activities. Embedded within the global digital product operating model, this role translates commercial and customer needs into a prioritized roadmap and leads delivery and reliable operation of the e-commerce platform.
This individual partners with Global Marketing, Commercial, Customer Experience, Service, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Legal and IT teams to shape requirements, design scalable solutions, deliver programs and drive operational excellence. The role collaborates with internal teams, strategic vendors and system integrators to improve how customers discover, evaluate, purchase and receive Waters products, consumables and services through digital channels. This leadership position reports to the Waters IT Business Partner and Technology Lead supporting Global Commercial and Digital capabilities.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Manage and Deliver Plan, Build and Run activities of Global e Commerce Product Model.
Collaborate with a Product Owner and be the owner of the Product from IT side.
Interpret the business needs and communicate with the IT team.
Plan technical upgrades with the Solution Architect to keep the product relevant.
Work with the IT Project Manager to collaborate with all IT Vendors to understand dependencies and plan work for boundary releases.
The Product Manager will work with the Business Partner as needed to take new work or change requests through the IT boards.
Work with the IT Project Manager to follow through defects and get them resolved or dispositioned for later release by collaborating with the Product Owner.
Help IT Project Manager with roadblocks in reaching out to the cross teams for support, if there are any gaps.
Work with the PMO team for the status and risk associated with each sprint and escalate as needed.
Develop deep knowledge of the Waters enterprise and digital technology landscape, including current-state architecture, integrations, data flows and capabilities supporting global commercial operations.
Establish and earn value-adding, partner relationship maturity for yourself and for the IT function.
Identify and define new opportunities to leverage technology and/or process re-design to advance e Commerce strategy that directly contribute to driving revenue growth, cost optimization and/or risk mitigation and compliance.
Advocate for the business within IT, and advocate for IT within the business. Serve as the primary representative and accountable party for all e Commerce services across business stakeholders.
Work with other IT business partner teams and external partner teams to define, document, analyze and prioritize existing and emerging business requirements.
Complete the projects/improvements/deliverables needed to implement technology, processes, or services to meet business requirements including the documentation, testing and implementation.
Manage and facilitate IT partner teams to ensure delivery provides the desired outcomes.
Partner with Waters Global Marketing, Commercial, Customer Experience and regional teams to understand evolving customer and channel needs, translate them into reusable global capabilities and manage appropriate regional variations.
Work across Waters IT product and platform teams to ensure digital commerce solutions are integrated with enterprise roadmaps for customer, product, pricing, order, inventory, service, identity, analytics and content capabilities.
Execute projects and report progress, including consistent and effective communication, change management impact analysis, readiness and effectiveness, cutover and go-live support. This includes managing escalation and mitigating risk.
Measure and communicate value realized on a periodic basis through defined and agreed upon metrics and supporting analysis.
Facilitates and collaborates to Deliver Business Outcomes
Lead and collaborate with business and technology partners from ideation through value realization for Waters global digital commerce products and services. Maintain and communicate the roadmap, balancing global capability reuse, regional requirements, customer impact, regulatory obligations and commercial value.
Works closely with the project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what was earlier promised throughout the project or product lifecycle.
Works closely with the product owners to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Provides business analysis support to solution architects to ensure the project or product is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
Collaboration with Solutions Design and Analysis
Reviews documented detailed business requirements for projects to ensure accurate requirements, then collaborates with Solution Design teams for evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture.
Contributes to architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects, and systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information).
Analyzes the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement (systems of record, insight, differentiation, and innovation).
Orchestrates Solutions Delivery
Directs the governance activities associated with ensuring solutions architecture assurance and compliance.
Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations following the enterprise architecture direction and principles.
Supports service managers in EOL (end of life) product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire products, services, or systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information).
Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
Identify organizational and financial impacts of digital commerce solution decisions, including implications for customer experience, commercial operations, service, supply chain, data governance, security and support.
