Global Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the development and execution of fulfillment strategies throughout the product lifecycle—from procuring raw materials to delivering finished goods to customers. This includes material management, capacity planning, logistics, distribution, and inventory management, with the goal of guaranteeing material availability and high customer service levels while optimizing value in a fast‑growing environment.
Position Overview
Insulet is seeking an energetic and strategic leader to be the Director of U.S. Distribution. This person will lead the daily operations of two U.S. distribution centers, overseeing all warehouse activities, KPI performance, finished‑goods storage, inventory accuracy, and customer fulfillment. They will also have dotted line management to PDM manufacturing teams and quality operations in both distribution locations. This role is accountable for developing people and processes, improving documentation, strengthening system controls, and driving automation to enable scalable, best‑in‑class distribution operations.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and operational leader with deep experience in warehouse distribution, optimization of storage capabilities, system improvements, and performance management. They will collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient fulfillment to customers across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Oversight
Lead daily distribution and warehouse operations across two U.S. fulfillment locations, ensuring safe, compliant, and highly efficient execution.
Oversee finished‑goods receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
Ensure inventory accuracy, proper material handling, and optimal space utilization.
Provide strong direction and leadership to site managers, supervisors, and hourly warehouse teams developing standard work and measurable performance structure.
KPI Management & Performance Excellence
Establish, track, and manage KPIs for warehouse operations, including productivity, accuracy, fulfillment speed, safety, cost, and service levels.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews; implement action plans to address gaps.
Partner with multiple functions including but not limited to Planning, Quality, Manufacturing, Customer Care, and IT to resolve issues impacting order fulfillment or system data integrity.
Documentation, Systems & Controls
Improve and standardize operational documentation, SOPs, and work instructions across both distribution centers.
Strengthen system and process controls to improve accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance.
Champion continuous improvement in WMS, system configuration, and data flow.
Manage and resolve system discrepancies and lead root‑cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify and lead initiatives to automate manual processes, improve warehouse flows, and enhance system tools.
Drive optimization of storage capacity through layout improvements, slotting strategies, and material‑flow redesign.
Implement best practices related to Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
Customer Fulfillment & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Ensure consistent, high‑quality fulfillment to customers, meeting all SLAs for order accuracy, service levels, and delivery timing.
Partner closely with Customer Care, Commercial teams, Quality, and Planning to resolve escalations and improve customer experience.
Support launch activities, special programs, and high‑growth demand scenarios.
People Leadership & Development
Develop high‑performing warehouse teams through coaching, training, clear expectations, and succession planning.
Foster an inclusive, safety‑first culture rooted in accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Set annual goals and guide managers in building talent pipelines and operational bench strength.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience (10+ years) in U.S. distribution, warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
Experience managing multi‑site warehouse operations and medium‑to‑large teams driving standard work and structure.
Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements, automation, and warehouse systems enhancements.
Strong understanding of SAP WMS, inventory controls, and data integrity processes.
Skilled in KPI development, performance management, operational reporting, and data analysis (PowerBI a plus)
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Supply Chain, Operations Management, and Engineering.
Master’s degree a plus.
Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or APICS preferred.
Experience in regulated or quality‑sensitive environments preferred.
Additional Information
Travel between U.S. warehouse sites required (~20%).
Role is based in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $144,600.00 - $216,900.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
