Labcorp is seeking a Director, US Benefits to join our team in Raleigh, NC with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule!

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of all U.S. employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, wellness, and 401(k) plans.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive benefits and population health strategy that enhances the employee experience, improves outcomes, and manages long-term costs.
• Partner with leadership to leverage data analytics, reporting, and insights to drive strategic decision-making and optimize benefit program effectiveness.
• Establish and oversee benefits analytics, including dashboards, KPIs, metrics, and executive reporting.
• Translate complex benefits, utilization, and financial data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Provide financial oversight of benefits programs, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, plan performance monitoring, and ROI analysis.
• Lead vendor strategy and management, including carrier and consultant relationships, contract negotiations, performance reviews, and annual renewals.
• Oversee 401(k) administration and governance activities, including retirement plan operations, compliance, fiduciary oversight, employee education, and committee participation.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and related benefits legislation.
• Maintain and enhance benefits systems, reporting capabilities, data integrity, and audit processes.
• Analyze utilization, claims, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for program enhancements and cost savings.
• Lead employee benefits communications and education initiatives to improve understanding and engagement.
• Develop, coach, and lead a high-performing benefits team while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging benefits strategies, and regulatory changes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7 or more years of progressive benefits experience, including management of health and welfare and retirement programs.
• 3 or more years of people leadership experience within a benefits function.
• 1 or more years of experience utilizing benefits analytics, population health strategies, and data-driven program design to improve outcomes and support decision-making.
• 1 or more years of experience managing the financial aspects of benefits programs, including budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, and ROI analysis.
• 1 or more years of experience supporting or managing benefits programs in large, complex organizations.
• 1 or more years of experience administering 401(k) and other retirement plans, including plan design, compliance, and investment oversight.
• 1 or more years of experience with retirement governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and retirement plan administration.
• 1 or more years of experience using benefits administration systems and related HR technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years' experience in unionized environments
• 2 or more years’ experience managing complex benefits programs in large, matrixed organizations.
• 1 or more years of experience in benefits analytics, population health strategy, and data-driven program design.
• 1 or more years of experience in benefits budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, and ROI analysis.
• 1 or more years of experience utilizing advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data modeling, and executive dashboard development.

• Experience identifying organizational and operational gaps and implementing strategies that improve team effectiveness, collaboration, and service delivery.
• Experience leveraging data, reporting, and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
• Experience managing benefits budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and program performance.
• Experience consolidating and analyzing data from multiple vendors, carriers, and systems to generate actionable business insights.
• Ability to communicate complex benefits, financial, and analytical information effectively to senior leaders and key stakeholders.
• Experience managing vendor and carrier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance management, and service optimization.
• Experience with benefits administration systems, reporting tools, and benefits data management.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and effectively manage sensitive employee and business information.
• Experience leading benefits initiatives during organizational growth, transformation, mergers, acquisitions, or integration activities.

The Director, US Benefits is responsible for overseeing and managing employee benefits programs within the United States. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining health, wellness, retirement, and other benefit plans to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and align with the organization's strategic goals. The role involves analyzing and selecting benefit vendors, negotiating contracts, managing benefits administration, and ensuring effective communication and education of benefits to employees. This position also plays a critical role in leading benefits analytics, population health strategy, and data-driven decision making, leveraging insights to improve outcomes, control costs, and enhance employee experience.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
