<h3>The Opportunity</h3> Maze is looking for a&nbsp;Director of Statistical&nbsp;Programming, who will&nbsp;help&nbsp;shape&nbsp;the&nbsp;data foundation&nbsp;of our&nbsp;clinical development&nbsp;programs. In this role&nbsp;you’ll&nbsp;collaborate&nbsp;closely with&nbsp;colleagues across&nbsp;Biostatistics, Clinical Data Management, Clinical Operations, and Regulatory Affairs, and oversee external vendors to&nbsp;keep&nbsp;our&nbsp;studies&nbsp;rigorous, high-quality, and ready for regulatory review.&nbsp; You’ll&nbsp;report to the Vice President of Biometrics and lead&nbsp;the strategy and day-to-day execution&nbsp;of&nbsp;statistical programming&nbsp;across multiple clinical&nbsp;studies.&nbsp;Your leadership will ensure&nbsp;we deliver&nbsp;reliable, efficient, and regulatory-compliant&nbsp;programming&nbsp;outputs&nbsp;that drive smarter decisions and advance our therapeutic programs.&nbsp; <h3>The Impact You’ll Have</h3> <ul> <li>Define and implement statistical programming&nbsp;strategy, standards, and best practices across development programs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead&nbsp;the design, development, validation, and maintenance of SAS macros, scripts, and applications supporting clinical data analysis, reporting, and regulatory deliverables (e.g., SDTM,&nbsp;ADaM&nbsp;datasets, TLFs).&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure programming infrastructure is robust, scalable, and compliant with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11,&nbsp;GxP), and supports reproducibility and audit readiness.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive&nbsp;automation and standardization of programming&nbsp;workflows to improve efficiency and consistency across studies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Partner closely&nbsp;with Biostatistics, Clinical Data Management, Regulatory Affairs, and IT to define programming requirements,&nbsp;align on&nbsp;analysis/reporting deliverables, and ensure data integrity.&nbsp;</li> <li>Represent the statistical programming function&nbsp;in cross-functional meetings and strategic initiatives.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage CROs and external programming vendors, including scope, timelines, quality, and budget oversight.&nbsp;</li> <li>Support outsourcing strategy&nbsp;and vendor selection</li> </ul> As a Director, we also expect you to demonstrate the following Leadership Competencies: <ul> <li>Communication and Influence <ul> <li>Builds communication channels across Maze for sharing information.</li> <li>Influences Senior Management decisions through persuasive arguments.</li> <li>Respectfully addresses differing opinions leading to support of decisions.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Teamwork and Collaboration <ul> <li>Champions partnerships and connections across Maze.</li> <li>Proactively addresses issues that could result in breakdown of team relationships.</li> <li>Spotlights team and individual contributions in public forums.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Execution and Results <ul> <li>Addresses gaps and leverages strengths to get best results.</li> <li>Maintains a steadying presence and clarifies priorities during change.</li> <li>Anticipates and removes barriers that put functional/corporate goals at risk.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Develop Others and Self <ul> <li>Remove barriers to staff development and empowers them to make their own decisions.</li> <li>Stays current on industry trends and keeps direct-reports prepared and responsive.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <h3>What We’re Looking For</h3> <ul> <li>An&nbsp;advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline&nbsp; <ul> <li>Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 8+ years of&nbsp;experience&nbsp;</li> </ul> </li> <li>A track record&nbsp;of&nbsp;leading statistical programming&nbsp;efforts&nbsp;across multiple clinical studies or&nbsp;regulatory&nbsp;submissions.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong decision-making skills and the&nbsp;ability to&nbsp;guide teams through ambiguity&nbsp;while influencing across&nbsp;project teams.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>A collaborative leadership&nbsp;style&nbsp;that emphasizes mentorship, knowledge&nbsp;sharing, and developing others.&nbsp;</li> <li>Deep technical&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;in statistical programming for clinical research, with familiarity in CDISC standards, submission‑ready deliverables, and modern programming best practices.&nbsp;</li> </ul> This role follows a hybrid schedule, with an expectation to be onsite at our South San Francisco headquarters at least three days per week.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <h3>About Maze Therapeutics</h3> Maze Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company harnessing the power of human genetics to develop novel, small molecule precision medicines for patients living with renal, cardiovascular and related metabolic diseases, including obesity. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. Maze performs position-based compensation benchmarking to industry market data to ensure we pay competitive wages. Determination of starting salary will depend upon a variety of job-related factors, which may include professional experience, skills, and job location. The expected salary range for this role may be modified in the future.
