Purpose:

The successful candidate will lead Portfolio Insights and Analysis, building and sustaining robust competitive intelligence (CI) and market research (MR) capabilities to inform portfolio decisions across GCSO. The role will integrate MR and CI within Global Strategy and Analysis, synthesize insights across Therapeutic Area (TA) and Disease Area Stronghold (DAS) teams, and provide the GCSO Senior Leadership Team and J&J Global Commercial leadership with an independent perspective on cross-portfolio decisions. The position will also support GCSO and Regional management with analyses and recommendations on J&J’s and competitors’ portfolios, including early- and late-stage R&D programs, in-market assets, and recently licensed or acquired assets.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Global Strategy and Analysis and may partner directly with VP, Portfolio Innovation & Commercialization Strategy. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Lead a global insights center of excellence that generates strategic insights for the J&J Innovative Medicine portfolio in support of the Long-Range Financial Plan (LRFP), 10-year outlook, Business Plan (BP), and Enterprise Business Review (EBR).
• Support GOC and GCSO strategic decision-making by delivering relevant competitive intelligence and insights.
• Advance the technology roadmap, including platforms such as Signal and Margo, and integrate emerging AI capabilities to efficiently generate strategic insights on the global portfolio in partnership with the TAs.
• Develop a Global Insights Roadmap and playbook in partnership with Commercialization Excellence to uncover customer insights that support the next wave of innovation in the clinical pipeline.
• Support GOC and GCSO strategic initiatives and business development opportunities in partnership with the PICS Strategy and Business Development team, as needed.
• Co-lead the GCSO Insights and Analytics Forum in partnership with TA/DAS Competitive Intelligence and Market Research leads.
• Support long-term forecasting with market insights during enterprise planning processes, including the Long-Range Financial Plan (LRFP) and Business Plan (BP).
• Develop and deliver in-depth analyses and strategic insights on the J&J Innovative Medicine pipeline and portfolio for senior management forums, including the GOC and GCSO SLT.
• Co-lead the continued development of portfolio strategy and analytics capabilities within PICS.
• Support senior management reviews, including the GOC and GCSO SLT, by consolidating inputs, developing scenarios and analyses, and facilitating connectivity between GCSO, the Regions, and IMSC functions.
• Introduce use cases and pilots that apply new and advanced analytics techniques including AI to address key portfolio questions.

Qualifications

Required:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. Advanced degree in business, quantitative, or life sciences preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Analytics and Insights roles including forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, or another related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership roles that required developing and driving insights & analytics and/or commercial strategy.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams is required.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority required. Broad understanding of pharmaceutical industry R&D, including clinical development, regulatory strategy, and competitive dynamics required.

Preferred:

• 3-5 years of experience leading, executing and delivering primary market research and/or Competitive Intelligence projects is preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of the key scientific, clinical, regulatory and commercial processes are desired.
• Experience in pharmaceutical asset valuation and pre-launch planning preferred.
• Experience in portfolio insights, analysis, and/or strategy preferred.
• Ability to build and defend arguments and influence others through effective spoken and written communications required.
• Functional experience in applying behavioral science and market research in drug development or long-term strategic planning is preferred.
• A demonstrated ability to lead multiple priorities and work independently is required.
• The ability to partner and influence without authority with leaders at all levels globally and locally is required.
• Strong leadership and the ability to operate in a Credo-based, ethical manner are required.

• This position may require up to 25% domestic and international travel, as needed.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$150,000.00 - $258,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
• Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
• Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
• Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
• Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
