Building relationships and scientific partnerships with our stakeholders is your second nature. Considering the nature of Bosnia and Herzegovina healthcare system, the Medical Director will bring understanding of the operating environment (or comparable market) and its challenges. You come with a strong vision on evidence generation and data enabled healthcare. You are passionate about innovation and can envision how healthcare data and science can have a sustainable impact on the healthcare system.
As a member of the Roche Bosnia and Herzegovina Enabling/Leadership Team, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and achieving company objectives within the Affiliate and Medical Chapter, including strategic decision making and empowering teams. You will serve as a role model to the entire organization, lead the functional chapter, and focus on upskilling and coaching team members, while also co-creating organizational strategies and fostering agility and cultural change. Additionally, you will collaborate with other Country Medical Directors, Chapter Heads and Squad Leads to allocate resources and support professional development within the Network, Affiliate and Chapter.
Who are we looking for?
Beyond strong focus on external engagement, strategic partnerships, data and science you have the following responsibilities:
Shape and develop the overall affiliate medical strategy based on external insights and Roche’s product portfolio developments
Drive above-brand medical strategy and alignment
Represents Roche medical authority with key external stakeholders
As a member of the Enabling /Leadership Team, develop and implement the vision, mission and overarching strategy for Roche Bosnia and Herzegovina and ensure it adheres to the highest scientific and ethical standards and fulfills all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Ensure excellence in scientific consulting with stakeholders, patient safety, quality, compliance, regulatory, evidence generation and medical information
Establish and maintain local medical and scientific independence and assurance of medical compliance acting as the local delegate of authority of Roche`s Pharma CMO ensuring business integrity and company reputation.
Drive early health data gap identification, prioritization and integrated evidence planning inclusion by being actively involved and by collaborating with strong medical enablers
Bring clinical practice perspective and act as a sparring partner to decide how (and which) data should be used / generated to build the medical narrative in the respective disease areas
Work closely with local, cross-country and global compliance networks, strong cross-functional partnership with other affiliate (and network) functions and actively engage with Roche global functions and group members.

Provide strategic guidance and scientific leadership to teams enabling the execution of the affiliate long-term vision, including strategic partnerships
Safeguards high compliance, ethics and safety standards, through consistent and patient centric business behavior, which is compliant to all applicable laws, pharmaceutical industry code of conduct and Roche Group Values and Code of Conduct.
Accountable for clinical data generation portfolio needed to fill evidence gaps and anticipate/support patient access according to the local needs and in line with global strategy. This includes both local projects or local contributions to network (cross-country) and global data generation activities.
Ensure the highest standards of clinical trial conduct, disclosure and data transparency.
Catalyze and coach a Pharmacovigilance (PV) compliance culture where 'accountability follows ownership' to ensure local activities are conducted in accordance with global and local regulatory requirements and processes.
Architect, catalyze and coach effective relationships with regulatory, reimbursement and other health authorities to shape the regulatory environment, deploy effective regulatory strategies to ensure early registration and access to innovation.
Facilitate a Quality Management System to guarantee the quality of Roche medicines, including compliance with applicable local and global requirements.
Preserve the license to operate for existing product portfolio.
Education & Experiences we believe are essential to succeed in the role:
University degree in Medicine or other HCPs (e.g. Pharmacy) or human-centered scientific PhD (e.g. molecular biology) with relevant experience may be considered
Minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related healthcare industry.
Exceptional medical knowledge, and up to date with contemporary medical concepts and basic scientific research methods.
Good understanding of development of new molecules, personalized / precision medicine and digital health
Understanding of medical and strategic aspects of drug development stages; medical strategies including integrated evidence generation, knowledge sharing and scientific collaborations; medical compliance (GCP/GVP/GMP/GDP), Health Care Compliance and Quality Assurance Management.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to drug registration, clinical studies, and pharmacovigilance.
Understanding of the local health care system, including regulatory and payer environment. Knowledge of the competitive landscape.
Knowledge of Customer Experience and Omnichannel Engagement concepts.
Preferred experience in people leadership and talent development.
Native proficiency in Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian language.
Advanced knowledge of English, both written and spoken
Advanced knowledge of MS Office or Google suite, advanced digital skills.
Valid driving license (B category).
