Ferring+You
Reporting to the General Manager of the cluster, the Commercial Excellence Director for France and Belgium will define and implement the strategy in the field of commercial excellence and manage commercial effectiveness to improve performance, especially for the sales and marketing teams in the cluster, using relevant measurement and analysis tools that support the rollout of our business strategy while taking into account the changing environment. As a member of the cluster's leadership team, s/he embodies Ferring’s ACE values in their day-to-day work (Accountability, Collaboration & Entrepreneurship).
Your responsibilities at Ferring
Leadership of Commercial Excellence team & strategy
- Manage a team composed of a Digital & Omnichannel project manager and CRM & Sales Effectiveness manager
- Define commercial excellence strategy in line with company ambition and cluster scorecard / priorities
- Develop the technological, multichannel, and digital strategy assessing the needs and tools, prioritizing business requirements, and creating the overall roadmap for multichannel, digital, and commercial excellence programs across our product portfolio in collaboration with key local business stakeholders and Global functions
- Lead digital projects that align with our growth ambitions, considering new customer engagement approaches and emerging technological opportunities
- In collaboration with cluster cross-functional teams, create and implement strategic and operational plans in line with Ferring’s strategy, enabling cluster/country achievement of the Commercial Excellence cluster targets
- Ensure successful execution of the Commercial Excellence strategy and plan, in line and consultation with the responsible cross-functional teams
- Drive activation, adoption and effective use of omnichannel capabilities (tools and channels)
- Partner with marketing teams to ensure omnichannel approach integration in their strategy and tactics
- Analyze our current needs and be proactive in suggesting future needs to adapt our organization to the changing environment.
Lead Commercial excellence tools in the cluster
Develop, maintain, and implement:
- A coherent system of measurement and analysis of sales force effectiveness or the deployment of an international model
- Innovative reports and analytical solutions for the sales force that drive sales growth and sales force productivity
- Optimal monitoring through key performance indicators
- Identification of training needs for sales force and commercial associates
- Effective cross-functional cooperation with the Regional/Global team to identify opportunities for improving sales force productivity
- Ensure the availability of relevant business information through the OCE CRM and be proactive in suggesting any necessary adjustments to the commercial activity to maximize our sales
- Act as strategic business partner to marketing, providing expertise and advice on omnichannel strategy, channel activation, customer engagement best practices and tendancies to maximize impact
- Provide training and ensure teams' readiness for successful product launch
- Evaluate the most successful product launches, the key factors that led to their success, the market segments to focus on (for example, the channels) in order to identify the means and resources to implement, develop, and integrate in the launch phase (processes, tools, training for sales/marketing teams and support services) while taking into account the development, monitoring, and adjustment of the roadmap to ensure optimal preparation and execution of new product launches, as well as launches of new indications, formulations, and dosages.
- Oversee market studies, strategic monitoring, and competitive intelligence for products in our therapeutic areas across all markets, by providing customer insights and conducting the necessary analyses to maximize the existing and future product portfolio in the pre-launch phase
- Identify and analyse business opportunities and help Management make decisions (Business development)
- Monitor launch performance using appropriate metrics such as market penetration rate, market share, and promotional campaign effectiveness

Experience / Qualifications
- A business school qualification is essential (preferably an MBA)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or biotechnology companies
- Must have significant experience in Commercial Excellence, including SFE, marketing and omni-channel strategies
- At least 5 years of management or leadership experience
- Experience working closely with internal stakeholders and in a multi-cultural environment
- Hands-on approach, the Commercial Excellence Director should be able to navigate from the strategy to the daily operations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken

- Analytical skills, data communication & presentation: Experience and know-how to consider data across the broad spectrum, set a strategy for communication and select the most appropriate information and presentation format/speakers for different audiences. Highly proficient in summarizing key data sets.
- Insight generation: Uses his/her experience to set up a systematic insight gathering strategy and transferring it into actionable outcomes.
- External stakeholder management: Ability to set up clear strategic framework determining which activities and via which channels to engage in and in alignment with brand strategy and cross functional overall objectives.
- Leadership: Anticipates the needs of internal stakeholders and demonstrates leadership to ensure collaborative cross-functional working, pro-active problem solving and conflict resolution, to achieve optimal outcomes. Engages teams in the work and drives productivity and engagement (either directly or indirectly). Identifies talent and skill needs and selects high caliber talent to the company. Clearly communicates expectations and feedback to department/functional teams. Personally invests time in coaching, mentoring and teaching others.
- Influencing and communication: Demonstrates strong presence and command of the room in large group situations. Builds collaborations across functions within the organization at the senior leadership levels. Demonstrates strong standards of emotional maturity and social intelligence. Has a reasonable level of external relationships from a networking perspective. Able to negotiate in tough situations.
- Strategic, structured and analytical: Manages team priorities in large and complex projects and solves complex problems. Leads team to deliver high-quality output within a specific discipline. Examines complex problems with a balanced data-based viewpoint. Drives capability building around critical technical skills needed for the future.
