(<i>*in collaboration with AbbVie</i>)</p><p></p><h2><u>About the Role:</u></h2>The Clinical Contracts Manager supports the Clinical Med Contracting Center of Excellence by managing and negotiating a broad range of clinical research agreements. This role is responsible for ensuring that all clinical contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures. The position works in close partnership with Clinical Outsourcing, Legal, Finance, and study teams to ensure timely contract execution, effective vendor communication, accurate budget review, and proactive contracting mitigation in support of clinical research objectives.<p style="text-align:inherit"><span>_</span></p><h2><u>Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):</u></h2><ul><li><p>Partner with Clinical Outsourcing (or designee) to manage and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Work Orders, Service Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), and other clinical research-related contracts</p></li><li><p>Ensure all contracts comply with applicable regulations and guidelines, including FDA regulations, EU Directives, ICH guidelines, and company SOPs and policies</p></li><li><p>Provide contract management support across Clinical/ Medical functions, including Clinical Operations, Clinical Development (including Experimental Medicine and Biomarkers), Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance, and Analytics and Data Sciences</p></li><li><p>Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Finance, Clinical Operations) and external partners (e.g., CROs, vendors, consultants) on contract-related matters</p></li><li><p>Support study teams as the single point of contact throughout the contracting lifecycle, from initiation through execution</p></li><li><p>Review budgets and business terms in collaboration with Legal,  Finance, and Clinical Teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with study requirements</p></li><li><p>Lead or support small RFPs for study-specific needs or lower-spend vendor categories</p></li><li><p>Negotiate contract terms with vendors as needed or as requested by Clinical Outsourcing</p></li><li><p>Maintain and update contract tracking systems, dashboards, and documentation to ensure visibility and audit readiness</p></li><li><p>Drive continuous improvement of contracting tools, templates, and processes to enhance efficiency and consistency</p></li><li><p>Work collaboratively with assigned study teams to implement and maintain standard contracting processes across clinical programs</p></li><li><p>Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members on contract administration, clinical accounting, and related activities</p></li><li><p><span>Perform other duties as assigned</span></p></li></ul><h2><u>Requirements:</u></h2><p></p><ul><li><p>BS/BA degree in business administration or health care/science related field AND 6&#43; years of experience in a CRO, Biotech or Pharmaceutical organization. Experience with contract management, negotiation, budgeting and administration including billing/invoicing, issue resolution, point of contact for CRO. OR</p></li><li><p>Master&#39;s degree in business administration or health care/science related field AND 4&#43; years of similar experience noted above</p></li><li><p><span>Strong knowledge of clinical trial processes, regulations, and industry guidelines</span></p></li><li><p><span>Demonstrated experience preparing and negotiating external provider MSAs, work/change orders, and related clinical agreements</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to read, interpret, and ensure contract language and terms align with company standards</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong contract administration skills, including budgeting, billing/invoicing, issue resolution, and serving as a point of contact for CROs and vendors</span></p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of clinical contract accounting and budgeting processes</span></p></li><li><p><span>Solid understanding of drug development and clinical operations</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional organization</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with accuracy and efficiency</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience supporting multiple teams and stakeholders</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to see the broader organizational impact of contracting decisions across departments and programs</span></p></li><li><p><span>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Smartsheets</span></p></li><li><p><span>Demonstrated commitment to process improvement and development of best practices within the functional area</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><span>#LI-SA</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>Neurocrine Biosciences is an <span><span><span>EEO/Disability/Vets</span></span></span></span><span> employer.</span><span> </span></p><p></p><p>We are committed to building a workplace <span>of belonging, respect, and empowerment</span>, and we recognize there are a variety of ways to meet our requirements. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
