As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help customers solve problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to driving customer success.
You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Chromatography systems.
Our product lines include hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems.
Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites
Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems
Performs maintenance and repairs
Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance
Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.
Train other field engineers and customers on the solutions.
Territory Coverage
The ideal candidate will reside in the state of WI and be close to a metro area (Milwaukee, Madison)
The position requires an active driver's license.
Company Vehicle Program: Either vehicle mileage reimbursement or a company car is eligible for this territory.
Territory: WI, covering IL, IN as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or other university-level degrees in related science fields -- e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar are highly preferred; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
1-2+ years of experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including repair, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting.
Experience or expertise with Chromatography (LC ) and Mass Spec (LCMS).
Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability; typically, system/ solution-focused.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential.
This position requires daily travel within the assigned territory and frequent visits to customer sites. Travel requirements may vary by territory and are expected to be as high as 50- 75%.
A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least March 31, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $34.00 - $53.13/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
