Canadian Country Manager

Hello. We’re Polaroid. An iconic brand, built by passionate people Polaroid was founded in 1937 by one of the 20th century’s most influential innovators, Edwin Land, whose philosophy was: “Don’t undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible.” In 2008, Polaroid produced its last pack of instant film. But a group of passionate fans refused to let instant photography disappear. What started as The Impossible Project grew into a mission to preserve and reinvent analogue photography for a new generation. More than a decade later, that same startup acquired the Polaroid brand and continues to shape its future today. At Polaroid, we create products and experiences that spark emotion, fuel creativity, and bring people closer together. At the intersection of art and technology, we believe in the power of analogue moments and genuine human connection in an increasingly digital world. The Role As the Canadian Country Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and expanding our footprint with National Retailers and Independents alike. We are looking for an experienced account manager that has excellent business and execution skills to deliver profitable customer plans and market share growth. In addition to channel and operational management responsibilities, this role will also collaborate with internal stakeholders from sales operations, finance, demand planning, product management, and marketing. Key Responsibilities: - Canada Market Leadership: Serve as the commercial lead for Polaroid in Canada, owning the Canadian wholesale plan and accountability for revenue and market growth. Be the in-market face of the business and the primary point of leadership for the Canadian commercial team and stakeholders. - National Account Ownership: Act as the strategic lead for all national wholesale accounts, ensuring long-term scalability, commercial profitability, and a premium Polaroid brand presence across every brick-and-mortar and digital retail touchpoint. - Account Partnership: Build and hold trusted relationships with the most senior buyers, merchants, and decision-makers across national accounts. Lead joint business planning and negotiate mutually beneficial terms that create sustainable, multi-year growth. - Team & Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and coordinate the Canadian commercial plan, including setting priorities and coaching supporting team members. Partner closely with US-based planning, finance, retail marketing, and product teams. - Forecasting, Demand Planning & SKU Transition: Translate market data into actionable inventory strategies. Lead seasonal forecasting and rolling monthly projections and manage SKU EOL transitions to protect sell-through. Track consumer trends and identify opportunities to capitalize or course-correct. - Sell-Through & Brand Activation: Shift the focus from sell-in to sell-through. Partner with retail marketing and activation teams to execute high-impact programs, elevate in-store positioning and shelf execution, and consistently use retail assets to drive account performance. - Brand Ambassador & Product Evangelism: Act as the face of Polaroid by demonstrating our world-class products at trade shows, training events, and major national account meetings. What You'll Need to Succeed - Experience: Demonstrable progressive, high-impact sales and account management experience within a consumer goods, consumer electronics, or premium hardware retail environment, including experience leading a market, a team, or a portfolio with meaningful autonomy. A proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar national retail portfolios is essential. - Canadian Retailer Depth: Deep familiarity with the Canadian retail landscape and established senior-level relationships across major national chains. - Commercial & Analytical Literacy: Strong command of retail math, inventory pipelines, pricing elasticity, and promotional mechanics. Comfortable evaluating complex financial models and partnering closely with finance and operations leaders. - Strategic Influence: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven track record of influencing external executive leadership and aligning internal cross-functional teams around a shared growth vision. - Self-Directed Leadership: Able to operate as the senior Polaroid presence in-market: setting direction and making decisions while staying tightly connected to the North American strategy.
