Location - Pune
The Business Systems Analyst is an active and self-sufficient functional contributor within their project or product team. In this role, you will analyze business requirements independently and translate them into detailed functional system specifications, with a strong focus on utilizing ServiceNow. As a functional BA, you will provide direct consultation to users, create detailed documentation, support testing phases, and ensure seamless operations. You will leverage your strong communication skills and background in the healthcare or pharmaceutical domain to navigate validated environments (such as GxP) and regulatory frameworks effectively.
Job Responsibilities
Scope / Content Leadership: Plays an active part within the project and/or product team. Provides constructive feedback, seeks feedback for self, reflects on own challenges and successes, and actively supports others.
Accountability / Problem Solving: Analyzes business requirements and translates them into functional specifications. Maps out user needs to system capabilities, specifically utilizing ServiceNow. Plans and supports unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Able to assess and communicate functional and regulatory risks effectively.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills are required. Identifies and communicates with stakeholders in a straightforward, clear manner. Considers both short-term and long-term implications in decision-making and adjusts rapidly in response to shifting priorities.
Impact / Strategy: Executes an independent personal development plan and remains familiar with current functional and technological trends in Pharma R&D. Seeks best-fit trainings, gains external certificates if applicable, and actively takes part in knowledge-sharing initiatives (e.g., conferences, CoEs, CoPs).
Complexity / Product Size: Operates at the Project level, making an impact on the workload of other chapter members through clear documentation and requirement gathering.
Business / Functional Ability: Acts as the bridge between the business and IT. Provides functional assistance in resolving business systems issues and offers direct consultation to users. Creates meticulous, detailed system specifications and documentation. Understands how individual functional components fit into larger systems, identifies opportunities, suggests process improvements, consciously builds up a colleague network, and thinks of alternative ways to solve problems before asking for support.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Target Experience: Bachelor degree, with 4-6 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in a functional capacity.
Domain Expertise: Strong background in the Healthcare or Pharmaceutical domain is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience acting as an active and independent contributor within project or product teams.
Proven track record of executing an independent development plan and participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Core & Technical Skills(Preferred)
ServiceNow Expertise: Specific experience and strong capability in utilizing ServiceNow for business systems management.
Regulated Environments: Experience working in a validated environment, such as GxP (Good Practice) regulations, and a solid understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks.
Requirements & Testing: Experience analyzing business requirements independently, translating them into functional system specifications, and supporting UAT and integration testing.
Documentation: Exceptional proficiency in creating detailed functional specifications and comprehensive business documentation.
Additional Qualifications
Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, necessary for translating complex business needs to technical teams and vice versa.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving mindset, capable of thinking of alternative ways to resolve complex business process issues without relying on technical workarounds.
Adaptability: Solid stakeholder management skills with the ability to identify key players, set expectations, and adjust seamlessly in response to shifting project priorities.
