If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2></h2><h2>Job Summary</h2><p></p><p>To support production and troubleshoot activities on fully automated assembly lines for manufacturing, <span>we’re looking to add an<b> Automation Engineer </b>located in <b>Austin, TX.</b></span></p><p></p><p><b><span>What a typical day looks like:</span></b></p><p></p><ul><li>Design, engineer, and modify existing and new moderately-complex automation equipment, tooling and applications to automate manufacturing processes.</li><li>Direct interface with customer and machine vendor for design improvements</li></ul><ul><li>Experience troubleshooting PLC Controls Systems: specifically Allen-Bradley and ABB</li><li>Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.</li><li>Understand the machine operating principle, Consequence of wear and tear parts and product defects</li><li>Ensure the uptime of machines through regular preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance</li><li>Should be willing to learn &amp; enhance the skill in all type of Automation equipment.</li><li>Should prepare why-why analysis &amp; drive for permanent corrective actions.</li><li>Should be able to give feedback to improve the design of process and equipment.</li><li>Directs daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs</li><li>Coordinates maintenance activities with other functional groups such as engineering and operations to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental function.</li><li>Collaborates and offers input to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework and associated processes for new products.</li><li>Identifies and drives change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.</li><li>Demonstrates and understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions and ideas on how best to deliver automation solutions.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>The experience we’re looking to add to our team</span></b></p><ul><li>Typically requires 3-5 years related experience</li><li>R<span>equires an Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics</span></li><li>Medical device manufacturing experience is<b><i> required</i></b></li><li>Understanding of PLCs (ABB preferred)</li><li>Experience with Minitab highly preferred</li><li>Lean Six Sigma/DRM Green Belt highly preferred</li><li>Electrical experience is a plus</li><li>Comfortable with presenting projects and data</li><li>Regulated industry documentation skills</li><li>Previous position supporting 24/7 production site</li><li>Experience with vision based inspection (Cognex/Keyence software)</li><li>Previous experience with pneumatics</li></ul><p></p><p>JS21</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>What you&#39;ll receive for the great work you provide:</b></p><ul><li>Full range of medical, dental, and vision plans</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>Short-term and Long-term Disability</li><li>Matching 401(k) Contributions</li><li>Vacation and Paid Sick Time</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Job Category</h2>Production Engineering<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Relocation: Not eligible<h2></h2><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Is Sponsorship Available?</p>No<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Flex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
