Associate Vice President, Clinical R&D

Job Description

The Associate Vice President of Clinical R&D will lead the global organization responsible for developing Agilent’s clinical diagnostic solutions. Based in Glostrup, this leader will drive execution of the clinical development solution roadmap across assays, instruments, software, and integrated workflows. 

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven leader with a strong record of product development, organizational leadership, and execution in regulated environments. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Execute the CDD Development in partnership with the Clinical & Diagnostics Division leadership team. 

• Own the execution of developing the product roadmap across solutions encompassing assays, instruments, software, and integrated solutions. 

• Lead new product development from concept through design transfer, and commercialization. 

• Ensure programs meet customer, clinical, technical, quality, regulatory, financial, and schedule objectives. 

• Align R&D with Product Management, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Service, and field organizations. 

• Ensure development activities comply with Agilent’s Quality Management System and applicable global medical-device and IVD requirements. 

• Lead portfolio investment, resource planning, budgets, organizational performance, and program risk management efforts. 

• Build a high-performing global R&D organization, develop future leaders, and strengthen technical capabilities while driving process improvement and execution efficiencies through digitization, automation, and systems modernization 

• Represent Clinical R&D with key customers, scientific leaders, and external partners. 

• Deeply engage with the Agilent R&D community and Chief Technology Office team to ensure alignment and implementation with enterprise innovation initiatives 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, software, or technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred. 

• At least 10 years of product-development experience in medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, or another regulated industry. 

• At least seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience. 

• Demonstrated success leading global, multidisciplinary teams and launching complex products. 

• Experience spanning several relevant areas, such as reagents, assays, instruments, software, systems engineering, or clinical workflows. 

• Strong knowledge of medical-device or IVD development, design controls, risk management, quality systems, and applicable regulations. 

• Proven strategic, financial, organizational-development, and cross-functional leadership capabilities. 

• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder-management skills. 

• Full professional fluency in written and spoken English. 

Preferred Experience 

• Clinical diagnostics development in pathology, immunohistochemistry, companion diagnostics, or other cancer diagnostics. 

• Integrated hardware, software, consumable, and assay development. 

• Support for global regulatory submissions and commercialization across multiple markets. 

• Leading a substantial R&D organization through growth or transformation.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
