The WW Medical Learning Team plays a critical role in ensuring that healthcare providers are educated on the appropriate use of BMS medicines and have the information they need to improve outcomes for their patients. We develop and deploy strategies, tools, education, and skill building to empower Home Office Medical (HOM) and Field Medical (FM) teams across the globe to perform effectively and compliantly, ensuring high-quality scientific exchange with the healthcare community.

 

What we are looking for:  

 

WW Medical Learning is seeking a strategic leader to own the scientific learning agenda for BMS Cardiovascular (CV) across WW/International Markets. This is predominantly a strategy-setting role: the Associate Director defines what FM and HOM teams globally need to know and be able to do to deliver trusted, high-impact scientific exchange – and builds the multi-year plans, partnerships, and governance model that make that possible.

The Associate Director, WW/International Markets Medical Learning, translates the medical mission into a scientific learning strategy that positions FM and HOM as the trusted partner of choice to a broad set of stakeholders – driving scientific exchange and insight generation that create measurable medical impact, advance science, and enhance patient access to our medicines.

 

Strategic Remit & Key Relationships:

 

Reporting to the Director, WW/International Markets Medical Learning, this role holds an enterprise-wide view of the training needs of WW/International Markets FM and HOM teams and is accountable for shaping how those needs are met in partnership with WW Medical Learning and WW Commercialisation Learning. Success depends on building and governing senior-level relationships across WW Medical Affairs, International Markets Medical Enablement, the WW Commercialisation Learning Centre of Excellence, Medical Excellence, and US Medical Learning – aligning investment, content strategy, and delivery models with the strategic priorities of the WW medical matrix.

This is a home office-based role with the ability to travel (up to ~10% based on requirements).

Strategic Accountabilities:

• Own the multi-year scientific learning strategy for WW/International Markets cardiovascular translating medical and commercial priorities into a coherent roadmap that governs how FM and HOM capability is built and sustained.

• Set the strategic framework for launch readiness, defining the standards, milestones, and governance that ensure FM and HOM teams globally are positioned to support priority clinical trials and major data readouts ahead of need.

• Architect the WW Medical learning approach to scientific data education at major medical congresses – establishing the strategic model for embargoed data readiness, post-congress contextualization, and knowledge-retention systems adopted across international markets.

• Build and govern a strategic partnership model across WW Medical Affairs, US Medical Learning, the WW Commercialisation Learning Centre of Excellence, Medical Excellence, and International Markets Medical Enablement teams, ensuring learning investment is concentrated against the highest-impact business priorities and content is leveraged rather than duplicated.

• Champion innovation and AI, in scientific education, evaluating and introducing new learning modalities, technologies, and adult-learning methodologies that raise the bar for the broader WW Medical Learning function.

• Define the strategic model for scientific onboarding and continuous learning journeys for international FM/HOM teams – ensuring consistency, scalability, and reuse of content developed for first market launches across subsequent worldwide launches.

• Set the strategy for measuring learning effectiveness, using training needs assessments and stakeholder feedback to shape where the function invests next, and advising the Director, WW/International Markets Medical Learning accordingly.

• Act as a strategic business partner with senior HOM and FM leadership to establish governance around training cadence – protecting field capacity for core activities while ensuring the organisation remains scientifically ready.

• Collaborate with International Market Medical Enablement team for deployment of scientific/skills resources

• Work closely with US Medical Learning and International Market Medical Enablement teams to support strategic alignment in education plans and resource development, leveraging and modifying content developed in support of first market launches for subsequent market launches for worldwide usage.
•  Direct resourcing and vendor strategy for the therapeutic area, ensuring third-party support is deployed against the highest-priority strategic initiatives.
• Align all trainings with medical strategic imperatives, medical communication topics, scientific narratives, and core competencies

• Act as a thought partner and advisor to the Director on the overall prioritisation, and evolution of the WW/International Markets Medical Learning portfolio.

• Create annual WW training plans based on training needs assessments to support the needs of HOM and FM teams; work with matrix partners to align plans with strategic needs of the business (WW Medical Affairs, US Scientific Learning, Medical Excellence, etc)

• Consistently evaluate quality of training materials & programs and medical training needs by regularly conducting training needs assessments with the Director, WW/International Market Medical Learning

• Demonstrate flexibility during times of competing priorities & participate in training of new team hires as appropriate

 Qualifications:

• Advanced degree required:  MD, DO, PharmD, DNP, PhD, or MSN strongly preferred
• 2+ years TA experience preferred
• 5+ years pharmaceutical / biotech / relevant industry experience as a field MSL or similar field-based and/or office-based position preferred with a proven track record of success
• Proven ability to set direction and influence senior stakeholders across matrixed, global organisations without direct authority.
• Strong executive presence and public presentation skills, with the ability to represent a strategic agenda to senior leadership.
• Demonstrated strategic planning, prioritisation, and portfolio-management skills across competing priorities and tight timelines.
• Deep knowledge and applied expertise in adult learning principles and the design of effective, scalable learning solutions.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain senior internal and external partnerships.
• A self-directed, highly motivated individual comfortable operating with minimal direction and high accountability for outcomes.
• Ability to travel (up to ~10% based on requirements).

Princeton - NJ - US: $177,990 - $215,682

The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.

U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.

Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.

Depending on eligibility, employees may also have access to additional time-off benefits, including paid sick leave, up to two paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, and leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, or military needs.
