<p style="text-align:left">Job Description</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p>Associate Director, Scientific Affairs</p><p><b>Description</b><br />The Scientific Affairs AD is a therapeutic and disease expert who is responsible for facilitating and developing relationships with the oncology, infectious disease, cardiovascular/Diabetes and vaccine medical/scientific community who have interest in participating in research studies (ISTs, Company Sponsored). This position will report to head of Scientific Affairs<br /><br />Primary Activities:<br />-Lead Investigator initiated trials by interacting with primary investigators, assisting in site identification and screenings, and delivering disease education using approved resources.</p><p></p><p>-Support data generation activities including provision of areas of research interest and IST process to potential investigators and review of proposals.<br /><br />- Identifies, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key investigators, institutions, groups and consortia to identify and address scientific and research needs.</p><p><br />- Support R&amp;D strategy to accelerate broader portfolio through internal candidate development and/or external partnership opportunities.<br /><br />- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain a reliable presence with Scientific Leaders to ensure they have a medical contact within company.<br /><br />- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the assigned disease and therapeutic area(s) through education efforts, including attendance at relevant conferences, workshops and review of key journals.<br /><br />- Represent company at scientific meetings including congresses and symposia&#39;s, advisory and investigator meetings.</p><p></p><p>- Coordinate publication activities as per requirement<br /><br />- Fully comply with all company policies and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards<br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br />Education:<br /><br />- An advanced degree (M.D., or Ph.D.) is required with prior experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare education environment<br /><br /><b>Required:</b><br /><br />- A minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience is required.<br /><br />- Must demonstrate deep therapeutic competency; stay abreast of trends and new information in the related TA.<br /><br />- Must have the ability to network and partner with external customers, including scientific leaders, investigators, academic institutions etc.</p><p><br />- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required.<br /><br />- Must possess demonstrable effective leadership skills (by example and through accomplishments), and is able to step forward to handle challenges within scope of authority.<br /><br />- Ability to travel up to 20% as required per this position.</p><p></p><p><b>Required Skills: </b></p>Accountability, Adaptability, Clinical Medicine, Clinical Quality Management, Clinical Research, Clinical Sciences, Clinical Study Design, Clinical Trial Planning, Clinical Trials Monitoring, Data Analysis, Documentations, ICH GCP Guidelines, Medical Research, Medical Writing, Process Improvements, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Strategic Planning, Strategic Thinking, Team Leadership, Training and Development<p></p><p><b>Preferred Skills: </b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Current Employees apply <a target="_blank" href="https://wd5.myworkday.com/msd/d/task/1422$6687.htmld">HERE</a></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Current Contingent Workers apply <a target="_blank" href="https://wd5.myworkday.com/msd/d/task/1422$4020.htmld">HERE</a></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Search Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully </b><br />Merck &amp; Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp &amp; Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
