Our average employee tenure of 15 years reinforces our commitment to our employees’ career success and personal fulfillment!<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><b>About the Role</b></h2><h2>Marmon/Keystone is seeking an <b>APQP Manager (Advanced Product Quality Planning)</b> to lead our North American approach to technical risk management, customer requirement flow-down, and launch execution across our metals service center and value-added processing network.</h2><p></p><h2></h2><h2>This hybrid position can be located in any of the following locations: Bolingbrook IL, Temperance MI, or Houston TX. Targeted compensation: $115-135k depending on experience level.</h2><h2></h2><p></p><h2>Unlike traditional product design roles, this position focuses on interpreting customer-supplied blueprints, specifications, and metal standards, and ensuring those requirements are effectively executed through a combination of internal processing and strategic outsourcing. You will lead a team of APQP Engineers and play a critical role in supporting OEM and Tier 1 customer growth.</h2><h2></h2><p></p><h2><b>What You’ll Do</b></h2><ul><li><h2>Lead APQP execution across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico</h2></li><li><h2>Ensure accurate interpretation and flow-down of customer requirements (prints, specs, ASTM standards)</h2></li><li><h2>Oversee:</h2><ul><li><h2>Feasibility reviews</h2></li><li><h2>Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs) and Control Plans</h2></li><li><h2>Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions and approvals</h2></li></ul></li><li><h2>Partner with sales on complex OEM opportunities to assess manufacturability and risk</h2></li><li><h2>Align internal operations and external processors to meet customer expectations</h2></li><li><h2>Drive reduction in quality escapes, Return Material Authorizations (RMAs), and cost of poor quality</h2></li><li><h2>Lead and develop APQP Engineers</h2></li><li><h2>Travel expectations across North America approximately 30-40%</h2></li></ul><h2></h2><p></p><h2><b>What We’re Looking For</b></h2><ul><li><h2>5-7+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, APQP, or supplier quality</h2></li><li><h2>3+ years’ experience in proven leadership and cross-functional influence</h2></li><li><h2>Demonstrated experience with:</h2><ul><li><h2>Blueprint reading & Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)</h2></li><li><h2>Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans</h2></li></ul></li><li><h2>Experience in machining, fabrication, or metals processing environments</h2></li><li><h2>Background supporting OEM or Tier 1 customers</h2></li></ul><ul><li><h2>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or equivalent technical experience</h2></li><li><h2>Preferred certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, GD&T, APQP Core Tools</h2></li></ul><h2></h2><p></p><h2><b>Why Join Us</b></h2><ul><li><h2>Immediate Day-One Benefits — medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with Roth option, and company-paid life/STD/LTD.</h2></li><li><h2>Paid Parental Leave (4 weeks) and Tuition Reimbursement after one year.</h2></li><li><h2>A legacy brand backed by Berkshire Hathaway with the resources of a global leader and the entrepreneurial spirit of a modern competitor.</h2></li><li><h2>A performance-driven culture that rewards initiative, innovation, and results.</h2></li></ul><p></p><p><i>Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
