We offer an opportunity for you to learn and grow while making significant contributions to the company's success.   We are seeking an Applied AI Engineer I to support the development and implementation of applied AI systems using internally developed machine learning models. This role focuses on hands on execution, including local model deployment, agent workflow implementation, and integration of AI tools into scientific research environments. The position partners closely with ML scientists and research teams to translate model outputs into usable, production ready tools. Responsibilities<ul><li>Implement and deploy open source and internally developed AI models using frameworks such as Hugging Face and Ollama</li><li>Build and maintain agent-based workflows and task orchestration systems</li><li>Integrate AI tools into existing research and data pipelines</li><li>Execute local model deployment and optimization for performance and usability</li><li>Support prompt engineering, testing, and evaluation of model outputs</li><li>Troubleshoot system issues and improve reliability of AI applications</li><li>Stay current with advancements in agentic systems and applied AI tooling</li><li>Collaborate with ML scientists to operationalize new models into usable applications</li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>BS or MS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, or related field</li><li>Familiarity with AI agent frameworks and basic orchestration concepts</li><li>Strong Python programming skills</li><li>Experience working with open source LLM frameworks such as Hugging Face or Ollama</li><li>Hands on experience running or deploying models locally, not limited to API usage</li><li>Understanding of prompt engineering and model evaluation fundamentals</li></ul> Preferred<ul><li>Exposure to agentic application frameworks such as OpenClaw</li><li>Experience with retrieval augmented generation, embeddings, or vector databases</li><li>Prior industry experience in biotech, pharma, or scientific computing environments</li><li>Experience integrating AI tools into research or production workflows</li></ul>   Compensation and Benefits: The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills. While most offers typically fall within the low to mid-point of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise exceeds the requirements of the role.   SystImmune is a leading and well-funded biotech company with a bright future.
