About the Role

-We are looking for a hands-on XRF/XRD Application Scientist to join the BEA AE team, supporting XRF/XRD product lines across pre-sales sample testing, customer demos, technical communication, post-sales application training, method development and competitive analysis. The role will cover key industries including new energy (Li-ion/Na-ion battery), mining & geology, customs, environmental monitoring and materials.

-This role works closely with sales, service, channel partners and factory product managers to turn technical capabilities into winning customer outcomes and reusable application assets.

Key Responsibilities

-Support demo lab daily operation, including instrument status check, sample/consumable management, test scheduling and daily management process optimization; assist with demo instrument installation and commissioning.

-Assist in lead generation by developing sales and marketing materials, application notes and technical information for customers; join seminars, workshops and trade shows.

-Facilitate deal close by conducting customer demos, sample analysis, technical communication and bid support as required.

-Conduct application trainings to customers for assigned product lines or technologies, both on-site and remotely.

-Provide technical assistance or training to sales, service and support channels to enable channel competence and competitiveness.

-Create sales and support tools such as competitive analysis, positioning messages and training materials.

-Participate in industry and trade conferences to represent Thermo Fisher in assigned territories and collect market information for factory feedback.

Act as technical link with product marketing and factory application teams to ensure commercial, industrial and marketing information is timely communicated both ways.

-Produce high-quality pre-sales reports, application notes, SOPs and competitive intelligence to support sales and service teams.

-Support post-sales application transfer and standardization, enabling service teams to handle routine applications independently.

Qualifications

-Master’s degree or above in analytical chemistry, materials, instrumentation or subjects related to XRF/XRD technologies; outstanding bachelor’s degree with strong XRF/XRD experience will also be considered.

-More than 3 years hands-on lab experience with analytical instruments related to X-Ray technologies; familiar with XRF/XRD sample preparation, calibration curve setup, FP/UQ analysis and basic troubleshooting.

Effective oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).

-Lab management experience.

-Willing to travel frequently and respond to urgent customer needs outside normal working hours when required.

-Emotionally stable and able to handle customer complaints, sales pressure and urgent tasks.

-Experience in new energy, mining & geology, customs, environmental monitoring or materials industries is preferred.

-Familiarity with Thermo Fisher software such as OXSAS, WinTrace, UQ , SOLSTIX JADE or MATCH is preferred.

-Experience in writing application notes, SOPs or competitive analysis is preferred.
