We currently have a full-time, 40-hour position available for an Animal Lab Technician on our busy USDA registered sheep farm and laboratory in Benson, VT!</p><p><b>Discover Impactful Work</b></p><p>The full-time Animal Lab Technician is responsible for providing high-quality antisera, ensuring all procedural work is carried out/delivered in line with the company&#39;s supply and operation process. This includes production and any research and development and design control requirements, while adhering to the quality policy and other relevant regulatory and governing bodies and company policies.</p><p><b>A Day in the Life</b></p><ul><li>Antisera processing</li><li>Collection of blood by plasmapheresis</li><li>Completion of relevant records</li><li>Antigen administration</li><li>Test bleeding</li><li>Weekly animal sorting for production activities</li><li>Care for and ensure the welfare of animals including but not limited to feeding, watering, bedding, and routine mucking</li></ul><p><b>Keys to Success</b></p><p><b>Education</b></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED Required</li></ul><p><b>Experience</b></p><ul><li>1&#43; year of work experience</li><li>Working on a farm and/or with livestock preferred</li><li>Working within a laboratory environment preferred</li></ul><p><b>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</b></p><ul><li>Valid driver&#39;s license required</li><li>Excellent communication and organization skills (written and verbal)</li><li>Able to communicate at all levels</li><li>Good analytical skills</li><li>Computer literacy</li><li>Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads</li><li>Must be able to work in a team environment</li><li>Excellent attention to detail</li></ul><p><b>Physical Requirements / Work Environment</b></p><ul><li>Dependability, reliability, and comfortable working in all weather conditions.</li><li>Must be flexible due to the unpredictable nature of working with animals and on a farm</li><li>Lift up to 50 pounds &#43;/-</li><li>Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling</li><li>Reaching, twisting, turning</li><li>Walk on uneven, wet, slippery surfaces</li><li>Must be willing to work weekends as scheduled</li></ul><p>Join us and contribute to making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
