Analytics Governance & Quality Engineer Guadalajara or Tijuana (Hybrid)

Position Overview

We are seeking an Analytics Governance & Quality Engineer whose primary mission will be to ensure the quality and governance of dashboards, tools, and analytical assets developed by the team. This individual will be responsible for establishing quality rules, programming automated monitoring alerts, documenting processes, and leading continuous improvement of internal workflows ensuring that the analytics infrastructure is reliable, efficient, and aligned with governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scripts in SQL and Python to automate monitoring and generate alerts for data and dashboard quality.
• Regularly review the quality of dashboards, tools, and analytical infrastructure, identifying and correcting deviations.
• Define, implement, and update quality rules and governance standards for data and dashboards.
• Document processes for quality review, monitoring, and remediation, ensuring traceability and compliance.
• Propose and execute improvements in internal processes related to quality management and governance.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure adoption of best practices in quality and governance.
• Generate reports and metrics on the state of quality, governance, and corrective actions implemented.
• Collaborate with data teams to design, execute, and validate test cases to ensure data integrity, functionality of workflows, and reliability of pipelines. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues uncovered during testing, working proactively with engineering, analytics, and business teams. 

Requirements

• Proven experience in programming with SQL and Python.
• Experience in monitoring and assuring the quality of data and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices in documentation.
• Ability to establish quality rules and metrics, as well as automate their monitoring.
• Skill in documenting processes clearly and structurally.
• Proactivity in proposing and leading improvements in internal processes.
• Desirable: Certifications in data quality, BI, governance, or data management.

Education & Experience Requirements 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. 

• 3+ years of professional experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data quality management roles required.

Preferred Experience: 

• Experience in industries such as healthcare, medical devices, or manufacturing is highly desirable. 

• Certifications in Data Governance or Data Stewardship (e.g., DAMA Certified Data Management Professional) are preferred.
