Account Manager, Life Sciences & Applied Markets

Territory: New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut Travel: Local travel with occasional overnight stays, 10–25%

As a Junior Account Manager, you will partner closely with experienced Account Managers — supporting customer calls, Teams meetings, and onsite visits — while building the skills to manage your own book of business. You will cover every market Agilent serves in this territory: chemical and energy, materials science, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical, life science research, clinical, environmental, forensics, and food.

What You'll Do

• Grow Agilent's market share in chromatography, mass spectrometry, and related consumables and services across the territory.
• Prospect proactively for new customers and opportunities, creating demand and driving deals jointly with your assigned Account Managers.
• Build and sustain long-term relationships with researchers, faculty, lab managers, and procurement teams.
• Develop and execute a territory plan that expands share across academic and commercial accounts.
• Achieve all sales targets and territory initiatives.
• Partner with Product Specialists, Consumables and Supplies, Service, and all One Agilent colleagues in the territory.
• Forecast accurately on a monthly, quarterly, and half-year basis.
• Maintain disciplined Salesforce CRM updates, expense reporting, and business reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or another physical or life science discipline from an accredited university.
• 1+ years of relevant experience: scientific/laboratory work with analytical instrumentation (GC, LC, MS), or field sales and customer-facing experience.
• Working understanding of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or related analytical workflows.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
• Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at every level, internally and externally.
• Strong self-management, organizational, territory planning, and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-selling environment and independently in a performance-driven setting.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred

• 1+ years of sales experience in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technology, life sciences, or a related scientific market.
• Experience selling into academic, university, government, or research laboratory environments.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, funding sources, and procurement processes.
• Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing market share.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least October 2, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. It is sales incentive eligible. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $83,175.00 - $138,625.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
