Territory: Upstate New York, with major concentration in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Ithaca, and Albany Travel: 25–50%, primarily local, with occasional overnight travel

As an Account Manager, you will cover all markets Agilent serves in this territory: chemicals and energy, materials science, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical, life science research, clinical, environmental, forensics, and food.

What You'll Do

• Grow Agilent's market share in chromatography, mass spectrometry, and related consumables and services across the territory.
• Meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
• Prospect proactively for new customers and opportunities, create demand, and penetrate competitive accounts.
• Build and sustain long-term relationships with researchers, faculty, lab managers, and procurement teams.
• Develop and execute an action- and target-based territory plan that expands share across academic and commercial accounts.
• Maintain satisfaction across the installed base.
• Respond to customer calls and emails within 24 hours, and provide accurate quotes within 24–48 hours.
• Partner with Product Specialists, Consumables and Supplies, Service, and all One Agilent colleagues in the territory.
• Submit accurate monthly and quarterly sales forecasts.
• Maintain disciplined Salesforce CRM updates, expense reporting, and business reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or another physical or life science discipline from an accredited university.
• 1+ years of relevant experience — either scientific/laboratory experience with analytical instrumentation (GC, LC, MS) or field sales and customer-facing experience.
• Working understanding of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or related analytical workflows.
• Ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, funding sources, and procurement processes.
• Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at every level, internally and externally.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
• Strong self-management, organizational, territory planning, and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both in a team-selling environment and independently in a performance-driven setting.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred

• 1+ years of sales experience in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technology, life sciences, or a related scientific market.
• Experience selling into pharmaceutical, academic, university, government, or research laboratory environments.
• Advanced technical knowledge of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or related analytical workflows.
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing market share.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least October 6, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. It is sales incentive eligible. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $110,250.00 - $183,750.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
