Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking (2) Access & Pump Engineering Co-ops to join our Cardiology team located in Danvers, MA.

Requirements:

• Conduct Feasibility testing including, but not limited to: part inspection, root cause investigations, fixture development, component prototyping, mechanical testing, thrombus loop testing, component interaction, test method development and test method validation.
• Contribute to team discussions on device design. Prototype devices either through rapid prototype manufacturing methods or performing secondary operations and assembly on procured subcomponents.
• Contribute to team discussions on development of test methods, including test method validation
• Independent fixture design and rapid fixture manufacturing
• Execute prototype device evaluations for key metrics including, but not limited to: usability, maintaining hemostasis, insertion/removal/repositioning forces through straight and tortuous anatomy, insertion characteristic to the arteriotomy, single access compatibility, and thrombus formation mitigation
• Perform statistical analysis of collected data, comparing to historic data or previously collected baseline data.
• Provide flexible support across access device, component, and kit development

Qualifications:

• Student pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
• Experience in Computer Aided Design (SolidWorks proficiency preferred)
• Knowledge of or experience in rapid prototype manufacturing
• Familiarity with statistical analysis
• Knowledge of experimental design and test method development
• Skills in Root Cause Analysis and problem solving
• Knowledge of mechanics and fluid flow
• Prior medical device experience preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of medical device development or development in a regulated environment preferred, but not required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$23.50/hr to $52.50/hr

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
